Your satisfaction is our top priority. If, for any reason, you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, our hassle-free return and exchange policy is designed to give you peace of mind. We are committed to ensuring our products and customer service consistently meet your expectations.

Damaged, Non-Working, Missing or Incorrect Product

Please inspect your order upon arrival. If your order arrives damaged, not working, missing items, or if you received the wrong product, photo documentation is required to assist with processing your claim. Our goal is to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We will either replace the product (if in stock) or issue a full refund.

  • Contact Novelty Lights within 7 days of delivery at customerservice@noveltylights.com. Provide your order number, a description of the issue, and photos (if applicable) of the product.
  • Claims submitted after 7 days for damaged or missing items will be denied.
  • A return shipping label will be provided at no cost to you for incorrect products. Replacements will also be shipped at our expense.

 

Replacement Bulbs

Novelty Lights will replace bulbs that are damaged during shipment at no charge.

  • Contact Novelty Lights within 7 days of delivery at customerservice@noveltylights.com to file a claim. Include your order number, photos of the packaging, total number of damaged bulbs, and the bulb color(s).

 

We strive to get back to you without delay. Please allow up to 48 business hours for a response, excluding weekends.

Return Policy

We accept returns for refunds or exchanges within 30 days from the date of purchase.

If the product was damaged during delivery, not working, or you received the wrong item, refer to this section 

How to Return a Product for Refund or Exchange

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return unused items within 30 days of purchase. The product must be in its original packaging, including all hardware, instructions, and accessories, and in an unused and undamaged condition.

  • Products returned after 30 days, or those that are damaged, incomplete, or modified, will either be sent back to you at your expense or incur a restocking fee of up to 40%, based on the product’s condition and at Novelty Lights' discretion.

  • Customers are responsible for shipping charges for returned products. Returns must be scanned by the return shipping carrier within the 30-day deadline.

If you have a registered account you can access the RMA process by logging into your account. If not already registered, please contact us via chat or email (customerservice@noveltylights.com) with your order number and we will create a registered account for you.

Initiate an RMA as instructed below to make a return.

  1. Log into your Novelty Lights account.
  2. Navigate to My Account on the dashboard.
  3. Select Orders on the left of the page.
  4. Navigate to the correct order number
  5. Select Return Item(s). A list of products ordered will appear.
  6. Select product and quantity for return. Fill out the information on the return form.
  7. Click submit.
  8. Print the RMA confirmation email and include it in your return shipment.
  9. Ship back the returned products with the shipping carrier of your choice. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

 

Exchanges

On the RMA form include the new product SKU number and the quantity of each item you would like in exchange for the returned item(s).

  • Exchanges will be processed after the original items are received. We recommend shipping your original items as soon as possible.
  • Exchanged products are valued at the original order amount. No credits or discounts will be applied. If there is a price difference, we will contact you to settle the balance. Any overpayment will be refunded to your original form of payment.
  • Exchanged items will be shipped at no additional charge via economy or standard ground delivery, provided the weight of the new product is similar to the original. Shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada will be charged at full shipping rates.

We make every attempt to process your exchange in a timely manner. Processing times will vary during peak and off-peak seasons.

Refund Timing

  • Refunds will be initiated once your item is received. The average processing time for refunds is 7 business days, though it may take up to 30 days during peak seasons.
  • Refunds for returned products will be issued to the original payment method. Original shipping costs are non-refundable.

Warranty Replacements

All products sold by NoveltyLights.com come with a warranty, which can be found in the product overview or specifications on the product page. For warranty-related issues, please contact the Customer Service Team at customerservice@noveltylights.com or by phone at (800) 209-6122, Option 4.

It is recommended to troubleshoot before contacting us. Check and replace fuses or batteries, tightening or replacing removable bulbs, as these are often simple fixes for non-working products.

  • We require photo documentation of the non-working product (e.g., lights plugged in) to assist with processing your warranty claim. Include your order number, shipping address, description of the issue, and photos in the email.

 

Refused Deliveries

Orders that are refused or marked 'Return to Sender' will be subject to a 30% restocking fee.

 

Hour Ratings for Product Lifespan

Lighting products often feature a bulb lifespan rating, which indicates average life expectancy under controlled laboratory conditions. This rating is not a warranty. Incandescent decorative lighting typically has a shorter lifespan compared to LED lighting due to differences in technology and energy usage.

Seasonal Use and Warranty

90-Day Seasonal Use Products

Seasonal products are intended for display for up to 90 days. They should be stored after seasonal use to ensure longevity. Continuous use throughout the year may result in excess wear and tear, reducing product lifespan.

2 and 3-Season Warranty Lighting Products

Products designed for 90-day seasonal use come with a 2 and 3-season warranty. This covers defects arising within two or three-year period for the intended 90-day usage per season.

Warranties do not apply to products that have experienced normal wear and tear, vandalism, accidents, neglect, abuse, misuse, Acts of God, or use for unintended purposes. Any modifications made to the product will void the warranty.
